TOURIST VISA.


A tourist visa is issued to a foreign citizen entering the Russian Federation as a tourist.


A tourist visa may be single-entry, double-entry for up to 3 months, or multiple-entry for up to 6 months.


The total period of stay of a foreign citizen in the territory of the Russian Federation on a multiple-entry tourist visa may not exceed 90 days during each period of 180 days (unless otherwise provided by a bilateral or international agreement of the Russian Federation).


DOCUMENTS FOR A TOURIST VISA.


1) Passport.

A valid foreign (diplomatic, service, ordinary) passport or other identity document recognized as such by the Russian Federation.

The passport must not raise doubts about its authenticity and ownership by its owner, contain marks, reservations, entries, erasures and corrections not certified by the competent authorities of the relevant foreign state, torn out or unsewn pages, must have at least two blank pages intended for visas, its validity must not expire earlier than six months from the expiration date of the visa.

Attention! Russian visas are not issued to foreign citizens whose technical condition of the passports does not allow establishing the validity of the said document or its ownership by the owner.

If the page with the identification data is found to be detached from the cover, or the laminating film is detached from the page with the identification data or from the photograph, or if there are tears in the pages of the passport or unspecified corrections and erasures, visas for such documents will not be issued.


2) Visa application form.

The visa application form is completed electronically only.

After completing the required information on the website, the visa application form is printed out in one copy, a photograph of the applicant is glued to the visa, the application form is signed by the applicant personally in the designated place, and the date of completion of the application form is indicated.

Attention! The answers to the questions of the visa application form must be exhaustive.

In case of discrepancy between the identification data of the foreign citizen specified in the visa application form and the information contained in the travel document submitted by him, as well as in the presence of unfilled fields or discrepancy between the information provided and the name of the section, the acceptance of documents for visa processing will be refused until the reasons for the refusal are eliminated.


3) One photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

A photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm (black and white or color) with a clear frontal view of the face without tinted glasses and without a headdress (except for foreign citizens for whom the constant wearing of a headdress is a mandatory attribute of their nationality or religion, provided that the foreign citizen is depicted wearing such a headdress in the photograph in the passport).

Attention! The photograph must be taken in a special photo studio. In the photograph, the applicant's face must be on a white background.



4) Confirmation of acceptance of a foreign tourist by an organization, information about which is contained in the unified federal register of tour operators.

Confirmation of a hotel reservation or other accommodation facility, information about which is contained in the unified list of classified hotels, ski slopes, beaches. Only for citizens of Bahrain, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Iran, Cambodia, China, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, Philippines.

A tourist visa issued on this basis may also be single- or double-entry for up to three months, or multiple-entry for up to 6 months. However, its validity period is limited to the dates of the hotel reservation.


5) Confirmation of payment for hotel reservations.


6) Confirmation of air ticket reservations to and from Russia.

It is advisable to provide payment for air tickets.

Important! Payment for air tickets does not in any way guarantee that the consular department will make a positive decision on issuing a visa.


7). Bank statement of the applicant.


8) Payment of the consular fee (see Consular fees).

The consular fee is paid by the applicant if a full set of documents is provided.

Payment is made in cash only, in CFA francs.

Attention! Please prepare the exact amount before coming to the Consular Section. The Consular Section does not give change.



FOR CITIZENS NOT FROM SENEGAL AND GAMBIA:


9) Medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation.


Only for citizens of the following countries that impose a similar requirement on Russian citizens entering their territory: Israel, Ireland, Iran, Schengen countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and Estonia) and PRC (only when issuing tourist visas).


Taking into account the principle of reciprocity in relation to citizens of the Schengen Agreement states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and Estonia), Russian foreign institutions require a minimum insurance amount of the above-mentioned policies of at least 30 thousand euros. In the part concerning persons requesting multiple-entry visas, the policy they present must cover, at a minimum, the period of their first stay in the Russian Federation.


10) Permit for continuous residence in Senegal or Gambia for more than 180 days. Only for foreign citizens who are not citizens of Senegal or Gambia. As a rule, such documents include a temporary residence permit, a residence permit, a study or work visa or other documents issued by the competent authorities of the applicant's country of residence.


Attention! In case of reasonable doubts regarding the actual purpose of the trip or the authenticity of the confirmation provided by a foreign citizen, an employee of the Consular Section may conduct a personal interview with him/her and request copies of additional documents confirming any services that will be provided to him/her in Russia.


Tourist visa processing times:

  • 4-20 business days
  • 1-3 business days (upon payment of the consular fee for an urgent visa). In exceptional cases it is possible to issue a visa on the day of submission of all required documents.
