BUSINESS VISA
BUSINESS VISA.
A business visa may be single-entry or double-entry for up to three months, or multiple-entry for up to one year.
Ordinary business visas are issued to foreign citizens traveling to the Russian Federation for the following purposes:
- "Business" - to establish business contacts (participate in negotiations, exhibitions, etc.), as well as to persons entering as part of aircraft crews;
- "Accompanying family member" - only to family members of foreign citizens who are representatives or employees of a foreign company that has concluded an investment agreement with a resident of the territory of advanced socio-economic development located in the Far Eastern Federal District, or with a resident of the free port of Vladivostok on the implementation of an investment project in the Far Eastern Federal District;
- "Driver" - to drivers of motor vehicles engaged in international passenger and cargo transportation between the territories of the Russian Federation and foreign states;
- “Crew member” - persons entering as part of the crews of sea or river vessels and ferries, as well as employees of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews on international trains;
- "Adoption" - for entry for the purpose of adoption of children left without parental care;
- "Medical Treatment" - for persons entering for the purpose of treatment at the invitation of medical organizations / "accompaniment" - for those accompanying foreign citizens entering the Russian Federation for the purpose of receiving treatment;
- "Press/Correspondent" - for entry of temporarily accredited special correspondents arriving on assignment from their editorial offices to cover specific events (or to replace the main correspondent in case of vacation, illness, business trips to other countries); professional journalists (if this is provided for by an international treaty of the Russian Federation), for the purpose of performing journalistic work;
- "Press/Technical" - for technical staff of correspondent offices of foreign mass media arriving as producers, editors, secretaries-translators, specialists in the maintenance of television and film equipment, communications equipment, as well as those accompanying the said persons (entering for the purpose of "Press/Cor").
The stay of a foreign citizen on the territory of the Russian Federation on a multiple-entry business visa may not exceed 90 days out of every 180.
DOCUMENTS FOR A BUSINESS VISA.
1) Passport.
A valid foreign (diplomatic, service, ordinary) passport or other identity document recognized as such by the Russian Federation.
The passport must not raise doubts about its authenticity and ownership by its owner, contain marks, reservations, entries, erasures and corrections not certified by the competent authorities of the relevant foreign state, torn out or unsewn pages, must have at least two blank pages intended for visas, its validity must not expire earlier than six months from the expiration date of the visa.
Attention! Russian visas are not issued to foreign citizens whose technical condition of the passports does not allow establishing the validity of the said document or its ownership by the owner.
If the page with the identification data is found to be detached from the cover, or the laminating film is detached from the page with the identification data or from the photograph, or if there are tears in the pages of the passport or unspecified corrections and erasures, visas for such documents will not be issued.
2) Visa application form.
The visa application form is completed electronically only.

After completing the required information on the website, the visa application form is printed out in one copy, a photograph of the applicant is glued to the visa, the application form is signed by the applicant personally in the designated place, and the date of completion of the application form is indicated.
Attention! The answers to the questions of the visa application form must be exhaustive.
In case of discrepancy between the identification data of the foreign citizen specified in the visa application form and the information contained in the travel document submitted by him, as well as in the presence of unfilled fields or discrepancy between the information provided and the name of the section, the acceptance of documents for visa processing will be refused until the reasons for the refusal are eliminated.
3) One photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
A photograph measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm (black and white or color) with a clear frontal view of the face without tinted glasses and without a headdress (except for foreign citizens for whom the constant wearing of a headdress is a mandatory attribute of their nationality or religion, provided that the foreign citizen is depicted wearing such a headdress in the photograph in the passport).
Attention! The photograph must be taken in a special photo studio. In the photograph, the applicant's face must be on a white background.
4) The original invitation to enter the Russian Federation (in paper form or a printout of an invitation issued electronically), issued by a territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or the original invitation issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, or a decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
An invitation to enter the Russian Federation is issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon request from:
- federal government bodies;
- foreign missions of foreign states in the Russian Federation;
- international organizations and their representative offices in the Russian Federation, as well as representative offices of foreign states to international organizations located in the Russian Federation;
- government bodies of constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
An invitation to enter the Russian Federation is issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia upon request from:
- local government bodies;
- legal entities;
- citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens permanently residing in the Russian Federation.
In exceptional cases (only for сommon single-entry or double-entry business visas) - a written invitation or request from a Russian host organization (must be issued on the letterhead of the host organization - a Russian legal entity; must contain the full name of this legal entity and its address, the full name and position of the person who signed the request, as well as confirmation of readiness to accept a foreigner with an indication of the exact dates of his visit).
In addition to the invitation, a written statement from a foreign citizen is also required,
In such cases, visas are issued based on the decision of the head of the diplomatic mission.
4) Payment of the consular fee (see Consular fees).
The consular fee is paid by the applicant if a full set of documents is provided.
Payment is made in cash only, in CFA francs.
Attention! Please prepare the exact amount before coming to the Consular Section. The Consular Section does not give change.
FOR CITIZENS NOT FROM SENEGAL AND GAMBIA:
5) Medical insurance policy valid on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Only for citizens of the following countries that impose a similar requirement on Russian citizens entering their territory: Israel, Ireland, Iran, Schengen countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and Estonia) and PRC (only when issuing tourist visas).
Taking into account the principle of reciprocity in relation to citizens of the Schengen Agreement states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and Estonia), Russian foreign institutions require a minimum insurance amount of the above-mentioned policies of at least 30 thousand euros. In the part concerning persons requesting multiple-entry visas, the policy they present must cover, at a minimum, the period of their first stay in the Russian Federation.
6) Permit for continuous residence in Senegal or Gambia for more than 180 days. Only for foreign citizens who are not citizens of Senegal or Gambia. As a rule, such documents include a temporary residence permit, a residence permit, a study or work visa or other documents issued by the competent authorities of the applicant's country of residence.

Business visa processing times:
- 4-20 business days
- 1-3 business days (upon payment of the consular fee for an urgent visa). It is possible to issue a visa on the day of submission of all required documents.
